1. Information We Collect

BizWiki collects only minimal information necessary to provide our services:

• Automatically collected information - IP address, browser type, visit time, search keywords
• Cookies - Cookies for service convenience (including local storage)

BizWiki does not have a membership system and does not collect personally identifiable information such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers from site visitors. (For how we handle the publicly-available business data shown in search results, see the section below.)

2. How We Use Information

Collected information is used only for the following purposes:

• Service usage statistics and improvement
• Prevention of fraudulent use and ensuring service stability
• Advertising services (Google AdSense)

3. Data Retention Period

Automatically collected log information is retained for up to 1 year for service operation purposes and is automatically deleted thereafter.

4. Third-Party Disclosure

BizWiki does not provide users' personal information to third parties. However, information may be provided in accordance with applicable laws when required by legal authorities.

5. Processing of Publicly-Available Business Data

The business names, representative names, business registration numbers, and addresses shown in our search results are based on government open data (Korea Fair Trade Commission mail-order seller disclosures, National Tax Service business-registration status, and Financial Services Commission corporate basic information). A sole proprietor's representative name may constitute personal information; BizWiki processes such already-lawfully-public information on the basis of its legitimate interest in consumer protection and transaction safety under Article 15(1)6 of the Personal Information Protection Act. Resident registration numbers are never collected or displayed, and personal contact numbers are masked.

6. Information Provided Through AI Tools

BizWiki operates a read-only server (https://mcp.bizwiki.co.kr/mcp) that lets AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude look up business information. It requires no sign-in and returns only the following. See the AI tools page for usage details.

• Business status check - business registration number, business name, taxpayer status (active, suspended, closed, or not registered with the National Tax Service), VAT taxpayer type, closure date, time of check, whether the value is live or stored, and the BizWiki business page URL
• Business name search - business name, business registration number, last checked taxpayer status, province and city/district, and the BizWiki business page URL
• Corporation profile - business registration number, business name, corporate registration number, founding date, industry, stock market listing, SME status, employee count, time the Financial Services Commission data was last updated, and the BizWiki business page URL

Representatives' names, phone numbers, email addresses and street addresses are never returned, and searching by a person's name is not supported. Businesses that asked to be removed are not shown.

Business registration numbers you enter are sent to the National Tax Service business status API solely to check status. We do not store the numbers or names you enter. To prevent abuse, we rate-limit requests by IP address and by the anonymous user identifier ChatGPT sends; these values are not stored. For usage statistics we log the tool name, the type of AI tool, a one-way hash of the anonymous user identifier, the outcome and the processing time. These logs are deleted automatically when Cloudflare's log retention period ends.

7. Rights of Business Data Subjects

The representative of a listed business may request access, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing of the published information. Email support@bizwiki.co.kr with the business registration number and name, together with proof of representation (business registration certificate or certificate of closure — with unnecessary details such as resident registration numbers redacted). After identity verification, we process the request in accordance with applicable law and respond with the outcome within 10 days. Processing may be limited where a statutory basis applies (e.g., Article 37(2) of the Personal Information Protection Act).

8. Cookies

BizWiki uses the following types of cookies:

• Essential cookies - Recently viewed businesses, bookmarks (local storage)
• Analytics cookies - Service usage statistics (anonymized data)
• Advertising cookies - Google AdSense personalized ads

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may be limited.

9. Advertising Services

BizWiki displays advertisements through Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits.

10. Your Rights

You have the following rights:

• Delete browser cookies and local storage data
• Change ad personalization settings
• Inquire about personal information processing

12. Policy Changes
